Introduction

The Africa U.S. Universities Initiative (AFUSI), which brings together the African Centre for the Study of
the United States (ACSUS), based at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), the Center on
Communication Leadership and Policy (CCLP) at the University of Southern California, the Center for
African Studies at Howard University, the Institute for African Studies at George Washington University,
and the Public Diplomacy Council of America shall have the next Webinar on Monday February 24th
2025. The forums, convened monthly since the U.S.- Africa Leaders’ Summit in December 2022, are a
space for the exchange of ideas and discussions that unpack various global issues affecting the world,
emphasizing Africa- U.S. relations. The forums are hosted in a hybrid format with a physical presence
in Washington, D.C, under the auspices of the University of Southern California and virtual
participation via Zoom.
