Introduction

Mr Adam Powell, Director of Washington Programs at the Annenberg Center for Communication and
Leadership and Policy at the University of Southern California in his introduction stated that the Africa
U.S. Forum is organised monthly by the African Centre for the Study of the US at University of the
Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, the Annenberg Center for Communication Leadership and Policy at the
University of Southern California, The Center for African studies at Howard University, the Institute
for African Studies at George Washington University, the Institute for Inequalities and Global Health
at the University of Southern California, and the Public Diplomacy Council of America.
