- Background: Professor McCartney has an extensive academic career, with 20 years at the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS), University of London, and the University of Oxford. He has been a visiting professor at numerous universities globally and has significant experience in development economics, particularly in the economic development of India and Pakistan. He has also worked with international organizations like the World Bank, USAID, and UNDP.

- Role: CEO of Waterfall City Management Company (WCMC)
- Background: Willie Vos is an accomplished property developer with over 28 years of experience in South African residential property developments. He holds an Honours degree in Financial Management and a Masters degree in Business Management. As CEO of WCMC, he oversees the coordination and management of all developments in the Waterfall City development, with an estimated value of over R100bn.
- Tommie Thompson
- Role: Quantitative Researcher, Charter Cities Institute
- Background: Tommie Thompson is a social science researcher with experience in impact evaluations, randomized controlled trials, and international development projects. He has consulted for the government on large-scale USAID and MCC projects in various regions, including Africa and Latin America. His research interests include urbanization, conflict, and the political economy of development. He holds a BA from the University of Chicago and an MPP from Georgetown University.
