TAGP is an independent, peer-reviewed academic journal published by Good Governance Africa
(GGA). Its primary goal is to enhance GGA’s research capabilities by providing a platform for
both emerging and established researchers across Africa to publish work on governance issues.
Early-career researchers benefit from a rigorous peer review process, while established researchers
explore themes pertinent to African governance.
The latest issue features four research articles focusing on the digital technology influence
competition between China and the US in Africa, facilitated by Dr. Bob Wekesa and funded by
the Africa-China Reporting Project at Wits Centre for Journalism.
– Tyler Venske’s article: Advocates for Africa’s digital sovereignty and highlights
challenges to achieving digital independence.
– Cliff Mboya’s article: Uses rational choice theory to analyze the effects of US-China
digital rivalry on Kenya’s foreign policy.
– Thomas Lethoba’s article: Investigates the media portrayal of the US-China digital
supremacy standoff in Africa, addressing misconceptions about China’s internet model and
its impact on African governance.
